Vira is a neo-Provençal style pendant light designed to provide sculptural illumination.

Its pleated silhouette diffuses a soft, warm light while creating a subtle play of shadows. When lit, it reveals the depth of the material. When off, it maintains a sculptural presence that naturally draws the eye.

Available in three sizes: S, M, and L, it can be used alone to provide a subtle focal point or combined with other pendant lights from the collection to create custom arrangements.

Entirely 3D-printed in Marseille, Vira is made from PLA, a bioplastic derived from corn starch. The material is enriched with natural residues such as recycled scallop or mussel shells, coffee grounds, or other mineral and organic resources.

These inclusions create unique shades and textures that evolve according to the ambient light.

Vira’s forms are inspired by the concrete sculptures created by Charles Gianferrari and Jacques Bertoux for the lobby of a building on Avenue Paul Doumer in Paris. They also evoke the turned legs of Provençal furniture, reinterpreted in a contemporary language. This meeting of local heritage and contemporary manufacturing gives rise to a neo-Provençal pendant light.

Only off-white, beige, and brown options are visible on the website. If you wish to create your custom color composition, please select "multicolor" and let me know your preferences via email.

Materials:

  • Bio-sourced PLA made from corn and/or wheat starch, combined with recycled organic and mineral residues.

Available colors:

  • Off-white: PLA made from recycled scallop shells.
  • Green: PLA made from beets, minerals, and pigments.
  • Terracotta: PLA made from recycled crushed bricks.
  • Black: PLA made from recycled crushed slates.
  • Beige: PLA made from recycled mussel shells.
  • Brown: PLA made from recycled coffee grounds.

Care instructions

As this is a bioplastic light fixture, it is sensitive to heat.

  • Use only LED bulbs.
  • Avoid direct heat sources.
  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth to preserve its natural texture.

Inspiration

Vira pendant lights are inspired by the concrete sculptures created by Charles Gianferrari and Jacques Bertoux, members of "l’Œuf centre d’études," for the lobby of a building on Avenue Paul Doumer in Paris's 16th arrondissement. These shapes are also reminiscent of the turned legs of Provençal furniture.
