Casus, a vase with a unique texture.

Born from the desire to allow for an element of the unexpected in a process usually designed to be perfectly controlled. By intentionally subverting 3D printing parameters, each vase reveals a unique organic texture, making the material a true creative language.

Its distinctiveness lies in its manufacturing process. Contrary to 3D printing techniques usually calibrated to produce perfectly regular surfaces, the printing process is intentionally subverted here. The parameters are continually adjusted to allow a random and organic texture to emerge, impossible to reproduce identically.

Each vase becomes a graphic presence with a unique texture, revealed by an intentionally subverted printing process. Each piece is thus the result of a balance between the machine, the material, and the designer's intervention.

Made in Marseille from PLA incorporating recycled organic or mineral residues (scallop shells, mussel shells, coffee grounds, recycled bricks depending on the finish), Casus is produced on demand. Each material reveals its own color, texture, and character.

Inspiration

The texture created for this vase was born from a desire to translate a complex internal process into matter: resilience: deconstructing and reconstructing oneself throughout life and the events that punctuate it. Subjecting the 3D printer to initially unforeseen variables to take advantage of them and force the material to adapt according to the output flow is a way of speaking about letting go.
