Julie Mallet at Edit Napoli 2026
Pieces designed to inhabit a space, not merely decorate it.
For EDIT Napoli 2026, Julie Mallet Studio presents Exélixi, Brigitte and Pendulum, three sculptural lights exploring the relationship between matter, volume and light.
Based in Marseille, French designer Julie Mallet works at the intersection of object design, contemporary craft and digital fabrication. With a background in interior architecture, she brings a sensitive understanding of space, proportion and light to the creation of sculptural lighting and objects.
Her practice uses 3D printing as a tool rather than an aesthetic. Moving beyond the technological language often associated with the process, she develops organic, textured and timeless forms.
Each piece is designed and made in her Marseille workshop using bio-based PLA enriched with reclaimed materials, including mussel and scallop shells, coffee grounds, crushed slate and brick.
Julie Mallet Studio will be exhibiting in the Seminario section at EDIT Napoli 2026, from 9 to 11 October at La Santissima, Naples.

Three sculptural lights presented at EDIT Napoli 2026
From floor lamp to table lamp and pendant, Exélixi, Brigitte and Pendulum explore how material, texture and light shape a space.
Exélixi
Sculptural floor lamp
Exélixi was conceived as more than a source of light: a sculptural presence designed to inhabit space.
The piece evolved from Métavasi, a totem floor lamp created for Mer Solidaire, a collaborative project initiated by Caroline Pelletti Victor, whose works were auctioned in support of SOS Méditerranée.
Meaning “evolution” in Greek, Exélixi embodies a gradual transformation. From a dense, textured base evoking sand, water and scallop shells, its surface becomes progressively softer, more fluid and luminous as it rises—like a sky clearing after a storm.

Brigitte
Sculptural table lamp
Brigitte offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the retro, sensual atmosphere of 1980s and 1990s interiors through the iconic language of tortoiseshell.
Originally explored in cellulose acetate, the pattern was entirely reimagined through 3D printing to remain true to the studio’s production process. After extensive experimentation, a technique was developed to create the mottled, translucent effect directly within the material.
When switched off, Brigitte asserts its graphic character. When illuminated, light passes through the pattern, revealing its depth and warm, enveloping nuances.
Entirely 3D-printed in Marseille, Brigitte is presented here in its signature finish: bio-based PLA enriched with reclaimed mussel shells and crushed slate. The natural inclusions create subtle variations in colour and texture, making each piece unique. Other material and colour combinations available upon request.

Pendulum
Sculptural pendant light
Pendulum is a sculptural pendant light shaped by balance, movement and perception.
Inspired by pendulums used in dowsing and divination, it explores the tension between stability and oscillation. Its elongated form and alternating straight and undulating lines create a graphic silhouette whose perception shifts as the viewer moves around it.
When illuminated, Pendulum casts a soft light that highlights its volumes and linear composition. When switched off, it retains a sculptural presence that naturally draws the eye.
Available in S, M and L, Pendulum can be displayed individually or combined with other pieces from the collection to create custom compositions.
3D-printed in Marseille using bio-based PLA enriched with reclaimed natural materials, including scallop and mussel shells, coffee grounds, and mineral residues. These inclusions create subtle variations in colour and texture that evolve with the light.
